Planning assumptions

Included scope: Slab cleaning, Primer coat, Body coat.

Planning assumptions · 6

  • Floor area uses one simple rectangular slab and does not subtract islands, stairs, curbs, pits, or equipment pads from the coating scope.
  • Prep allowances here cover degreasing plus minor crack repair only; grinders, shot blasting, moisture-mitigation primers, and slab patching remain outside the BOM.
  • Concrete moisture vapor, curing compounds, old sealers, and oil contamination can make floor coatings fail even when square-foot coverage looks adequate.
  • Crack repair in this calculator is limited to minor routed or static cracks; moving joints, slab-flatness correction, moisture mitigation, and spall rebuilds stay outside this scope.
  • Coverage rates use manufacturer-style baselines on properly profiled concrete and assume a single body coat at roughly 250 sq ft per kit. Surface temperature, porosity, roller loss, installer method, multi-coat systems, porous slabs, and heavy-fill flake builds can reduce real coverage and increase the real kit and topcoat count.
  • The BOM rounds packaged materials to whole purchase units such as gallons, bags, boxes, buckets, rolls, cartons, tubes, jars, bundles, or kits, so bought quantity can exceed the exact theoretical coverage shown by the area metrics.
